The Camerano caves are much more than a 80 min. walk at 14 C degrees. They are not only an unusual perspective of the capability of our ancestors to take the best from what the Nature use to give them. Camerano Caves are still, after the starting of the modern research campaign that dated since 1976, somehow still unrevealed, mysterious and fascinating.

I'm used to representing them as a multi-purpose-network that lies under the peak of the borgo, till some 22 meters below the ground level. The sightseeing tour is for everybody, when able to lift up and down normal stairs.
Why multi purpose? Camerano Caves have been used as warehouses for food and wine, as a hiding place for refugees at the end of World War II, as a water reservoir, as a meeting place for secret, closed circles. As a church for Catholics and, long before that, as temples for Knights Templar and pagan followers. Not to forget, all their life long, an unpleasant, Middle Age prison.
