Many times, surely more often than we might imagine, a great Project is born from a spark.
An emotional spark, as much as a rational one, stemming by inspirational waves that live
with us, an integral part of our potential but too often, unfortunately, not seized. That’s how
I like to introduce Roberto. Because after 18 years since our first meeting, 'Le Marche in
Valigia' in Bratislava, he still fascinates me with his straightforward, humble yet refined
ability to create value from knowledge. Qualities arising from the gathering of different
skills. An ambassador for rediscovering and valuing togetherness. Of growing together. Of
going beyond sterile self-interest to grasp the essence of the union between people and
territory, in a single, indissoluble relationship of mutual dependence.
Thanks to Roberto, Valdaso pictoresque territory, Fermo Province and I dare say the whole
Marche region are more appreciated and better known worldwide. Not just for promoting
zero-kilometre farming practices but for the persistent awareness of being able to achieve
incredible results relying on people's strength, in total autonomy and free from the subtle
coercion of those who often offer easy funding for results hard to understand. Roberto,
through Agrituraso Marche, integrated relational tourism and Le Marche in Valigia (The
Marche in a suitcase), tells stories not just about spontaneous herbs, rediscovering rural
traditional dishes and elevating them with a rare ability to engage any diverse audience. Or
perhaps it only seems diverse. Roberto applies territorial development paradigms through
words like respect, relationship, understanding, curiosity, friendliness.
From the initial spark that gave life to the farmhouse called La Scentella, not just a meeting
place or a mere Think-Tank Lab but a magical place, where unknown people - as I´ve been
experiencing during each of my trips to Petritoli - in just a few hours, manage to
communicate, one to each other, beyond any language barrier, culture, religion or interests.
